Welcome to Buzz City Beat, a daily roundup of the latest news and stories from around the web about the Charlotte Hornets.

Kemba Walker is one of four players in the league averaging at least 24+ PPG, 6+ APG and 3+ RPG with the other three being LeBron James, Stephen Curry and James Harden. (NBA Stats) In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we look at the Charlotte Hornets moving up in the NBA power rankings, the Greensboro Swarm’s roster additions and an interview with Stephanie Ready.

Hornets move up in power rankings (USAToday.com)

"With Nicolas Batum (elbow) expected to return in late November or early December, sixth-year guard Jeremy Lamb has made the most of his opportunity in the starting lineup, averaging 17.2 points (on 45.7% shooting), 4.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists."

After Week One, Charlotte sat at No. 20 in the power rankings. They move up one spot to No 19 for Week Two. The Hornets could continue to climb the rankings as they have now won two straight games against tough opponents (Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies) while also winning three of their last four in total.

While Kemba Walker has been the driving force for the team, Jeremy Lamb has provided consistent play in place of Nic Batum. Lamb has scored 15+ points in every game so far this season. Once this team gets healthy, there’s a good chance that they could challenge for a top-10-12 spot in the rankings later in the season.

Carter-Williams assigned to Greensboro Swarm (NBA.com)

"Charlotte Hornets General Manager Rich Cho announced today that the team has assigned guard Michael Carter-Williams to the Greensboro Swarm, the team’s NBA G League affiliate, for a rehab assignment.  This marks the Hornets first assignment of the season to the Swarm."

The Hornets are making great use of their G-League team by sending Michael Carter-Williams to Greensboro. This will give MCW a chance to get some high-level in-game action before making his return to Charlotte. It will be interesting to see how Michael performs in the G-League as it will be his first action of the season after missing the preseason and every game so far this year.

The Swarm has also signed John Dawson (ASeaOfRed) and Brent Arrington (MSUEagles). The New Orleans Pelicans have also transferred Charles Cooke and Jalen Jones to Greensboro pursuant to the Flexible Transfer Rule. (PelicansPR)

Stephanie Ready interview (SportingNews.com)

"Hornets analyst Stephanie Ready on moving back from booth to sideline: ‘I was shocked.’ Ready became emotional when speaking about the support, calling it “overwhelming” and “humbling.”"

Stephanie Ready talked about her move back to the sideline from the broadcast booth this season. She also talked about her future aspirations of hosting a big show and being an analyst once again. This was an interesting interview and gives a more in-depth look at who Ready is as a person.
