Buzz City Beat is Swarm and Sting’s one stop for the best articles from around the internet surrounding the Charlotte Hornets.

Jeremy Lamb is leading the league in eFG% among players with at least three field goal attempts per game. In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we look at the Charlotte Hornets‘ best pitch to sign LeBron James in free agency, Kemba Walker passing Baron Davis for a franchise mark and Steve Clifford praising Celtics’ rookie Jayson Tatum.

Hornets pitch to sign LeBron (BleacherReport.com)

"“You’ve made it your life’s mission to surpass Michael Jordan as the greatest basketball player of all time. Well, we all know that’s not going to happen, but if you come to Charlotte, he can at very least impart some wisdom upon you in between golf outings and whatever it is he does as our chairman."

While Charlotte may have a decent enough pitch to at least get LeBron’s attention, they don’t have that much to offer. Unless they shed a number of their large contracts, the Hornets won’t have enough cap space to get James. And if they do create the necessary cap space, the team would have gotten rid of most of their key players making it less likely for The King to sign in the Queen City.

Maybe I’m underestimating MJ and he alone can convince LeBron. Looking at James’ realistic options next summer, the Los Angeles Lakers seem to be in the conversation as well as the Los Angeles Clippers. Although, a return to the Cavs could still be in the cards.

Walker recorded his 18th career game with at least 20 points and 10 assists. That puts him ahead of Baron Davis for the most in Charlotte Hornets’ history. Kemba continues to break franchise records left and right. When it’s all said and done, he will probably hold almost every significant milestone for the team.

If Walker continues his current trajectory, he will most likely go down as the greatest player in Charlotte Hornets’ history. Kemba isn’t far away from passing Dell Curry for the most points in team history and most three’s made. He’ll definitely be on the Hornets’ Mount Rushmore along with Larry Johnson, Muggsy Bogues and Dell Curry.

Steve Clifford commends Jayson Tatum (Twitter/ @BillHerenda)

"“He’s made for this league. This league is about 2-way players . . . who have versatility, quickness & toughness & they – #Celtics – have a roster full of them” – Steve Clifford #Hornets on Jason Tatum"

Next: Second round pick Dwayne Bacon is an ideal rookie

So far this season, Jayson Tatum has looked like the best rookie that isn’t named Ben Simmons. The third overall pick can do it on both ends and looks to have the potential to be a superstar in this league one day. The Charlotte Hornets’ head coach has taken notice and praised the young man’s game.
