Welcome to Buzz City Beat, a daily roundup of the best articles from around the internet surrounding the Charlotte Hornets.

After playing in one game with the Greensboro Swarm, the Charlotte Hornets have recalled rookie Malik Monk from the G-League. (NBA.com) In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we preview Charlotte’s game against the Boston Celtics while also looking at the Hornets’ new “City” edition uniforms and not counting this team out just yet.

Charlotte vs Boston prediction (NBA.com)

"The Hornets (12-21) find themselves in need of a momentum-gathering win on the eve of a four-game Western swing that opens Friday at Golden State. Even with the victory over the Bucks, Charlotte hasn’t taken advantage of a recent friendly schedule. The Hornets went just 4-8 despite playing nine of their past 12 games at home."

The Celtics have been one of the best teams in the league so far this season. Although they are first in the East, Charlotte could be catching them at the right time as Boston’s only 5-5 in their last 10 games. Kyrie Irving vs Kemba Walker is the matchup to watch as the two all-star point guards will be going head-to-head in this one.

As if the Hornets weren’t already dealing with enough problems, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is questionable for this game as he is dealing with an illness. Looking at Charlotte’s current form, it’s hard to pick them over a team that’s 27-10. While I think the Celtics will win this game, I will say that if the Hornets can pull off the upset, it would be a statement victory that could boost their confidence and propel them going forward.

Hornets’ “City” edition uniform unveiled (Nike.com)

"Like their namesake, the Charlotte Hornets stick together. The team’s City Edition uniform features a hive-inspired pattern, colors that mimic iridescent hornet wings and the team’s anthem, “Enter the Swarm,” above the jock tag."

Charlotte’s fifth and final uniform for the 2017-18 season was finally unveiled. It’s a primarily black uniform that features “Buzz City” across the front and purple and teal crossing lines down the sides. This is are very different from the “Buzz City” alternate jerseys that the Hornets had last season.

They are expected to begin wearing these uniforms at the end of December. It’s unclear how many times they will wear them throughout the season but it will surely be a few times. The team also released this video unveiling their new uniforms and how they represent the city of Charlotte.

Don’t count the Hornets out just yet (iSportsWeb.com)

"The Charlotte Hornets have the tools and potential to make a splash within the Eastern Conference. From a talented young core, to veteran leaders, it is important for Charlotte to come together as a team and stay focused on every game."

The Hornets’ roster is talented enough to make the postseason. Period. That’s why they were projected to battle for a top-six seed before the season started and why there has been so much disappointment surrounding Charlotte’s slow start. If (and that’s a pretty big if at this point) they can figure things out and put a few win streaks together, they could easily climb back into the playoff picture. I wouldn’t count this team out until we have seen them fully healthy.
