Stats: 21.8 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 2.1 APG, 50.9 FG%

Who Got in Over Him? Roy Hibbert, yes, Roy Hibbert

The fact that Big Al was not selected to the All-Star team this season is just absurd. Roy Hibbert is just one of the several guys Big Al was better than during the season.

The only half logical explanation that you can give for Hibbert is that he was on a team en route to the 1 seed. That’s about it.  He averaged half as many points, a little over half of the rebounds, and 6% worse from the field than Big Al.

This one was so bad that’s it’s almost pointless to even explain why Big Al was better all around because it’s so obvious. Hibbert is/was a better defender we all know that but that’s not enough to justify this. The Bobcats PR team even campaigned for him with the “Big Al’s Paint” campaign.

Big Al put this team on his back to help them reach the playoffs in their last season as the Bobcats. Thankfully what he did didn’t go unnoticed as he made the All-NBA Third Team later in the year.

Oh, and yes, this is the SECOND time on this list that someone missed the ASG while making an All-NBA team.

So those are some of the biggest snubs in the franchise’s history. I’m sure there are a few great seasons that I forgot about, but those are some of the best that come to mind.

Hopefully next season with All-Star Weekend in Charlotte, one or two guys can get into the game.
