The Charlotte Hornets look to begin their post-all star break schedule with a win against the Brooklyn Nets at the Spectrum Center.
The Charlotte Hornets ended their pre-All Star break schedule with a close road win against the Orlando Magic. The win snapped a 14 game losing streak in games that are decided by three points or less, tied for the longest losing streak in NBA history. Now, they look to continue their momentum at home against the Brooklyn Nets.
The Nets, coached by Kenny Atkinson, are 4-17 in their last 21 games despite most of those games being close. They do have a lot of talented young players like D’Angelo Russell and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, and Spencer Dinwiddie, the Skills Challenge winner from All-Star weekend. All three are looking to help the Nets finish their season strong.
Kemba Walker played a part in All-Star weekend as he helped Team Lebron to victory over Team Stephen this past Sunday. The two-time all-star had 11 points on 5-10 shooting in 14 minutes of game action. Now, he looks to lead a Hornets playoff push despite being 5.5 games back of the 8th seed going into the homestretch of the season.

The Brooklyn Nets are second in the NBA in makes and attempts from behind the arc. In addition to that, they are also one of the best rebounding teams in the NBA. The Hornets have struggled to do both this season. They can’t afford to let the Nets best shooters get hot because when they do, their offense is tough to stop.
Next: Predicting the second half of the season for Charlotte
Overall, if the Hornets want to make a playoff push, they have to take care of business the rest of the season and get some help from teams ahead of them. The Hornets playoff chances are already slim and a loss wouldn’t help their cause. We will see if the all-star break will reinvigorate the Hornets into a strong finish to the season.
