Re-picking the last five drafts for the Charlotte Hornets
In real life, the 2014-2015 season was a step back for the team that made the playoffs. How would the new-look Hornets fare?
This season is where the potential starts to show. The Hornets finished well below expectations that year, sporting a 33-49 record. Marvin Williams signed with the team after that season. I don’t think this team really needs him, so we’ll pass on signing him. With the starting five of Jefferson, Green, Antetokounmpo, Beal, and Walker, the Hornets gained 18 wins, putting them at the 3rd spot in the East. This would essentially give us the 23rd pick, as opposed to the 9th pick we had at the time.
First Round:
If you recall, we selected Frank Kaminsky with that pick. Obviously, he would wouldn’t be available when the 20th pick came around, so we’ll be selecting Larry Nance Jr. for backup purposes.
Second Round:
In reality, the Hornets didn’t do much in the second round, trading their pick to the Brooklyn Nets. We’ll do the same here.
