Which current Charlotte Hornets’ players had the most accomplished careers while in college?

In the college basketball world, March Madness is now in full swing. Often times, the NCAA tournament is where legends are made, and where future NBA players can be created.

This isn’t any less true when you look at the Charlotte Hornets. There are some guys like our captain who will forever be remembered in the history books, but there are also some guys whose names have been made in the NBA. I’m going to (attempt) to rank the Hornets players by their college careers. The ranking process is based on individual stats, some on awards, and some on tournament accomplishments.

N/A- Dwight Howard, Nicolas Batum, and Willy Hernangomez

Obviously, none of these guys apply here because they didn’t go to college. Like most players that come from foreign countries, Batum and Hernangomez simply played in their respective countries before being drafted.

Dwight Howard on the other hand, came straight out of high school as the number one overall pick the year after LeBron James. While it’s not confirmed, it had been rumored that Dwight would’ve attended UNC. The scariest thing about that is that the season Dwight would’ve been a freshman UNC won the national championship. That roster had names like Marvin Williams, Raymond Felton, and Sean May. Had Dwight have joined them, they surely would’ve gone undefeated as well.

I have no clue where Nic or Willy would’ve gone to college. If I had to guess, and there’s zero reasoning behind this, I’d say Nic would’ve gone to UCLA and Willy would’ve gone to Texas.

Now onto the actual rankings:
