11. Julyan Stone– University of Texas-El Paso

Stats: 5.8 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 5.2 RPG

Stone wasn’t much of a scorer in college at UTEP. His ability to be that well rounded in most statistical areas, however, is impressive. The main focus of Stone’s impact was on defense.

He only appeared in one NCAA tournament game and won no major awards, so that’s why he finds himself lowest on the list. After a solid college career, Stone was still able to prove he could play professionally.

10. Michael Carter-Williams– Syracuse

Stats: 8.2 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 5.2 APG

After getting practically no playing time his freshman year, MCW made his sophomore season great. He averaged over 11 PPG, over 7 APG, over 5 RPG, and nearly 3 SPG, and was a huge factor on the Syracuse team that made it to the Final 4 in the 2013 season. MCW even made the All-Region team in the tournament that year. His final 4 game against Michigan was poor, but that doesn’t take away from his great season.

9. Dwayne Bacon– Florida State

Stats: 16.5 PPG, 5.0 RPG

Highly recruited out of high school, Bacon had two great years at Florida State. Many thought he’d originally been a one-and-done, but that second year was a big help for him. Not only did FSU have an incredible season, he was on the Wooden Award watch list just about all season.

FSU was good enough to grab a 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament last season. In the second round they ended up being upset by 11th seeded Xavier, so Bacon just didn’t have much of a postseason legacy.
