"Spurs assistant James Borrego and Celtics assistant Jay Larranaga each will meet with the Charlotte Hornets for a second time on head coaching job this weekend, league sources tell ESPN. Owner Michael Jordan will be a part of these meetings, sources said."
The most important thing to note is that owner Michael Jordan will be a part of the meeting this time around. The first interview probably only involved Mitch Kupchak, Buzz Peterson and maybe a couple other front office members. Obviously, both Borrego and Larranaga impressed Charlotte more than the other candidates (Ettore Messina, Ime Udoka, David Vanterpool).
It will be interesting to see who comes out as a favorite after the second meetings. Larranaga reportedly met with the Hornets on May 6th. (Gary Washburn) After David Fizdale signed with the New York Knicks, Charlotte had to shift their attention to other targets and Borrego and Larranaga are the two leading candidates at this point in the process.
Henderson invited to G-League Elite Mini Camp (Gleague.NBA.com)
"Before the NBA Draft’s top prospects meet later in the week, the NBA G League’s camp offers standouts from this past season another chance to showcase their talents in front of NBA team personnel, before NBA Summer League and 2018 training camps"
Henderson was the only Greensboro Swarm player named to the G-League Elite Mini Camp this year. He, along with about 40 other players, will show off their skills in a two-day scouting event for NBA teams. Terry was one of Greensboro’s best players last year as he put up 11.2 points per game, 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
The 24-year old North Carolina native appeared in 42 games for the Hornets’ G-League affiliate this past season and started in 22 games. Archie Goodwin who has also played with the Swarm is set to participate in the event as well. Henderson made it to Charlotte’s training camp roster last year and even appeared in two preseason games before being waived. Maybe he will impress a team at the mini camp and sign with them this summer.
30 best players over 30 (HoopsHype.com)
"Although it came in a losing season, Dwight Howard just enjoyed his most productive campaign since his Rockets days. Considering the eight-time All-Star is under contract for another year and owed $23.8 million from Charlotte, it’s a good thing the big man can still produce at a healthy level."
HoopsHype ranked Howard as the 11th best player over 30-years old. He’s listed ahead multiple players including Lou Williams, Carmelo Anthony, Pau Gasol, J.J. Redick, Andre Iguodala, George Hill and Joe Ingles. LeBron James (1), Stephen Curry (2) and Chris Paul (3) landed in the top-three.

Only 10 players came in ahead of the 32-year old Hornets’ big man. Considering that Dwight is coming off of his best season since the 2013-14 campaign, he could be hitting a second wind in his career. We’ll see if he can continue producing as he gets late into his 30’s. Howard has said before that he wants to play when he’s 40.
