Kendall Gill was the fifth overall pick in the 1990 NBA Draft by the Hornets. He was selected after Derrick Coleman, Gary Payton, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf and Dennis Scott. KG played his first three seasons in Charlotte and returned for a half a season later in his career.

Over the course of those four years, Gill appeared in 266 games (218 starts) and averaged 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He was named to the 1990-91 All-Rookie First Team. His best season for Charlotte came in his sophomore year when he put up 20.5 points per game.

Kendall ranks eighth in two-point field goals made and eighth in steals in franchise history. Even though he wasn’t with the Hornets for very long, he made a strong impact and was one of only 10 Hornets to ever average over 20 points per game in a season. He was also the third best player on the 1992-93 team that made the Eastern Conference Semifinals led by ‘Zo and LJ.

After his first three seasons with Charlotte, Gill was traded to the Seattle SuperSonics where he spent two years before being dealt back to the Hornets. After only 36 games, the Queen City team moved Kendall to the New Jersey Nets where he played for five and a half seasons. He then played one year in Miami, Minnesota, Chicago and Milwaukee before retiring after the 2004-05 NBA season.
