Kemba Walker is the best Bobcats/Hornets player of all-time. Period. In turn, that means that he is also the greatest draft pick in franchise history. The team picked him with the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft.

More from Swarm and Sting

He became a UConn legend while in college as he led the Huskies to an improbable Big East Title and an NCAA National Championship in 2010-11.

In seven seasons with Charlotte, Walker has played in over 500 games and averaged 18.9 points and 5.4 assists per game Kemba is a two-time All-Star and has become the team’s all-time leading scorer.

He is currently, third in franchise history in games played, second in minutes played, second in field goals made, first in three-point shots made, first in free throws made and second in assists.

Although he hasn’t had the postseason success that others on this list have had, no player has accomplished more individually than Walker has in the Queen City.

When it’s all said and done, there is a good chance that he will be a lifelong Hornet and finish his career in Charlotte. By that time, he should hold just about every significant team-record that he doesn’t already own.

After all of that happens, it’s likely that he will have his No. 15 jersey retired by the Charlotte Hornets.  Kemba has done more for the franchise than any other player has in the past. Walker will need to make a few more all-star games and have some postseason success if he wants to reach the ultimate goal of reaching the Basketball Hall of Fame.
