Charlotte Hornets: 15 greatest draft picks in franchise history
Charlotte’s selection of Frank Kaminsky was a controversial one as they reportedly turned down four first-round picks from the Boston Celtics. The Hornets ended up picking Frank with the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 2015 NBA Draft.
Through his first three seasons in Charlotte, Kaminsky is averaging 10.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He’s appeared in 235 games and has made 23 starts for the Hornets. He is one of only 13 Charlotte draft picks to ever average 10 points per game for their career.
Frank already ranks 10th in three-point shots made in Hornets’ history. If he continues his career with Charlotte, he could become one of the better three-point shooters in team history.
At only 25 years old, he still had a long career ahead of him. Charlotte’s hoping that he will get better on defense, improve his shooting efficiency and continue climbing up the ranks of their best outside shooters. He has a long way to go and Kaminsky’s career will forever be shadowed by the rumored trade before his draft selection, but he hasn’t been a bad pick.
