Charlotte Hornets: 15 greatest draft picks in franchise history
Charlotte chose Raymond Felton fifth overall in the first round of the 2005 NBA Draft. He appeared in 399 games (369 starts) for the then-Bobcats over the course of five years.
Felts put up 13.3 points, 6.4 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game in his five seasons with the Bobcats. He was named to the 2005-06 All-Rookie Second Team during his first year and was a durable player averaging 34.9 minutes per game while playing over 78 games in every season with Charlotte.
Raymond ranks fifth in games played, sixth in minutes played, sixth in field goals made, sixth in three-point shots made, ninth in free throws made, third in assists, fifth in steals, and seventh in point scored in franchise history.
Although Felton was never a superstar or even an All-Star for that matter, he was still a solid player for Charlotte and was a key piece of the Bobcats era. He was also part of the first Charlotte team to get to the playoffs after basketball returned to the Queen City.
After playing for the Hornets, Raymond became a journeyman in the NBA playing for the New York Knicks, the Dallas Mavericks, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Denver Nuggets and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
