Former Kansas Jayhawks’ point guard Devonte’ Graham reportedly interviewed with the Charlotte Hornets at the 2018 NBA Draft Combine.
According to Alex Schiffer of The Kansas City Star, Graham has also met with the Charlotte Hornets. The article also noted that Devonte’ also interviewed with the Detroit Pistons, the Dallas Mavericks, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Atlanta Hawks and the Indiana Pacers. The Draft Combine took place in Chicago from May 16th to May 20th.
The Raleigh, North Carolina native is projected to be a second-round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft despite being consensus first-team All-American and being named the Big 12 Player of the Year this past campaign. It’s worth noting that Charlotte only has two picks in the upcoming draft at No. 11 and No. 55. With their only second-round being so late in the draft, it’s unclear if Graham will still be on the board when they select.
He helped boost his draft stock while at the combine as he scored 16 points in one of the 5-on-5 scrimmages. Devonte’ measured in at 6’1.5″ with a 6’6.25″ wingspan. Although he isn’t considered a top-point guard prospect in this draft class, he could is worth a second-round flier.

He helped lead the Jayhawks to a 31-8 record, a Big 12 Title and a Final Four appearance. The 23-year old not only led the team in scoring but he also led Kansas in assists and steals. He was one of Bill Self’s best players this past year.
Charlotte met with a number of players at the combine including projected lottery picks Collin Sexton, Miles Bridges and Michael Porter Jr. They also interviewed Maryland big man Bruno Fernando. The Hornets have already held workouts with Austin Ajukwa, Admiral Schofield and Andrien White as well.

If Graham were to fall to No. 55 or if Charlotte traded for a higher second-round pick, Devonte’ could very well be an option for the Hornets. They are a team in need of point guard depth with Michael Carter-Williams set to be a free agent this summer.
