Fletcher Magee has conducted pre-draft workouts with three different NBA teams including the Charlotte Hornets.

According to LakersNation.com, Fletcher Magee “previously was called in by the Charlotte Hornets.” Magee’s pre-draft workout with the Los Angeles Lakers was his third as he also met with the Boston Celtics before LA. It’s still unclear if he will stay in the draft this year or go back to school for his senior campaign.

Fletcher declared for the 2018 NBA Draft but did not hire an agent which means that he can return to college if he withdraws his name by May 30th. He said that he had nothing to lose by entering his name and working out for teams. (WSPA.com) Most signs point to Magee returning to Wofford College.

The 21-year old was named the 2017-18 Southern Conference Player of the Year. He averaged 22.1 points per game, 2.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 48.4% from the field, 43.9% from three and 90.7% from the free throw line. He is a sharpshooter specialist and was arguably the best three-point shooters in college basketball this past year.

More from Swarm and Sting

In 2017-18, he led the Southern Conference in points, field goals made, made the most three’s in the Conference for the second straight year and led the entire NCAA in three’s. The Orlando, Florida native also had the highest three-point shooting percentage in the Southern Conference in back to back years.

Despite his achievements and shooting ability, Magee isn’t considered a first-round prospect. Although, he could be an intriguing option in the second-round for teams looking to add perimeter shooting.

The Charlotte Hornets hold the 55th overall pick in the second-round of this year’s draft.

Fletcher is a light’s out shooter but at 6’4 and 195 pounds, he doesn’t have the prototypical size for an NBA shooting guard. Still, his ability to knock down outside shots could be enough to land him on an NBA roster. Coming off of a season where he was named the Player of the Year in the Southern Conference and led the NCAA in three’s, his draft stock may never be higher than it is right now.

Next: The "Yea, but..." argument for Hornets' draft prospects

In his pre-draft workouts, Magee wants to show teams that he is more than just a shooter and is working on his defense in particular. It will be interesting to see if Fletcher stays in the draft or returns to school but a final decision will be made in the coming days. The Charlotte Hornets have also worked out Austin Ajukwa (Charlotte), Admiral Schofield (Tennessee) and Andrien White (Charlotte).
