Welcome to Buzz City Beat, a daily roundup of the best articles from around the internet surrounding the Charlotte Hornets.

The Charlotte Hornets conducted their first set of pre-draft workouts which included Connor Burchfield (William & Mary) Jon Davis (Charlotte) Marcanvis Hymon (Mississippi) Bakary Konate (Minnesota) Ray Ona Embo (Tulane) Lexus Williams (Boise State). In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we look at Charlotte parting ways with their director of pro personnel, Dwight Howard getting one All-NBA vote and Terry Henderson‘s performance at the G-League Showcase.

Hornets part ways with Todd Quinter (Twitter/ @TheSteinLine)

"The Hornets have parted ways with director of pro personnel Todd Quinter, according to league sources. The well-regarded Quinter is one of the league’s most seasoned scouts … but change has been steady in Charlotte since new GM Mitch Kupchak took charge"

Quinter was hired as Charlotte’s director of pro scouting in 2012-13. He’s been in the NBA since the 1986-87 season with the Phoenix Suns. Todd worked his way up from video coordinator to scout and eventually to advanced scout in 2008.

Although he may be seen as one of the league’s most seasoned scouts, his time with the Hornets hasn’t been filled with great draft picks. It will be interesting to see who Mitch Kupchak hires to replace Quinter. One thing that is clear is that the new general manager is cleaning house in Charlotte.

Howard receives one All-NBA Vote (Twitter/ @JoshuaBRobbins)

Howard is one of five players who received one third-team vote along with Kristaps Porzingis, Kevin Love, DeMarcus Cousins and Trevor Ariza. Even though Dwight had a bounce-back season with Charlotte, it’s still remarkable that he got an All-NBA vote on a 36-46 team that missed the playoffs. We will know who voted for him on June 25th when the complete voting results are released.

To be fair, he did average16.6 points per game and 12.5 rebounds. He was one of only three players to put up at least 16+ PPG and 12+ RPG with the other two being Karl-Anthony Towns and DeMarcus Cousins. Kemba Walker didn’t receive a single vote this year.

Terry Henderson impresses at G-League Showcase (Gleague.NBA.com)

"See below for the top three performers by test and full results from Basic Athletic Measurement and scrimmage games at the 2018 NBA G League Elite Mini Camp.Vertical (No Step)1. Terry Henderson – 33 inches2. Daniel Dixon – 32.5 inches3. Kamari Murphy– 32 inches"

The Greensboro Swarm shooting guard recorded the best no step vertical (33″), was tied for the second-best max vertical with 38 inches and was tied for the third-best reaction shuttle (3.08).

Henderson measured in at 6’5″ and 191.8 pounds with a 6’8.5″ wingspan and an 8’5″ reach.

Next: Hornets worked out Moritz Wagner

During the scrimmages, he averaged 8.8 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 34.4% from the field, 38.9% from three and 75% from the free throw line. Terry scored double-digits in two of the four games with 14 points in his first game and 10 points in his second. All in all, he had a pretty good outing at the G-League Showcase. He was the only Greensboro Swarm player invited.
