Charlotte Hornets to work out Miles Bridges
The Charlotte Hornets are reportedly set to host potential top-10 pick Miles Bridges for a pre-draft workout.
According to Jessica Camerato of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Miles Bridges is slated to work out with the Charlotte Hornets prior to the 2018 NBA Draft. Camerato also tweeted that the former Michigan State forward is set to meet with the Los Angeles Clippers. It’s unclear when the Queen City team will meet with Miles but with the draft quickly approaching, it should be soon.
Bridges has already worked out for the Philadelphia 76ers, the Chicago Bulls and the New York Knicks. It’s worth noting that Charlotte met with and interviewed the 20-year old at the Draft Combine. Many teams that hold lottery picks have interest in Miles.
The Flint, Michigan native is expected to be a lottery pick in this year’s draft with NBADraft.net having him going to the Philadelphia 76ers at No. 10. A number of mock drafts have projected Bridges to the Hornets who hold the 11th overall pick in the first round.

During his sophomore campaign at Michigan State, Miles put up 17.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 31.4 minutes per game. He shot 45.7% from the field, 36.4% from deep and 85.3% from the free throw line. Bridges impressive year made him a Wooden Award finalist and a Second Team All-American.
He’s drawn comparisons to former NBA player and NBA Champion Jerome Kersey. At 6’7 and 230 pounds with a 7’0 wingspan, Miles has good size for a forward at the next level. He is viewed as a bit of a tweener but that versatility could work in his favor. Bridges will most likely be a small forward but could play as a small-ball four.
Miles could’ve been a lottery pick if he would’ve entered the 2017 NBA Draft but decided instead to return to school for another year. Playing two years under one of the best coaches in college basketball in Tom Izzo should have helped Bridges prepare for the next level.
His scoring ability makes him an intriguing option for the Hornets who haven’t had a lethal scorer from the small forward spot in recent seasons.

Other potential lottery picks that Charlotte’s worked out include Mikal Bridges, Lonnie Walker IV, Robert Williams and Troy Brown. Miles will surely be a name on Mitch Kupchak’s radar leading up to the draft. If he impresses during his workout, there is a real chance that the Hornets could take him at No. 11.
