2015: Picked Frank Kaminsky at #9

The 2015 draft was a wild one. Charlotte fans were clueless who was going to be picked when the time came. Many fans chanted, “We want Justice,” before the pick. Frank Kaminsky’s name was called and many fans liked the pick while others didn’t. It was believed that Kaminsky was selected because he and Michael Jordan had a good relationship. I don’t think that is the case.

Kaminsky was the NCAA Player of the Year and looked like he could be a dominant big man in the league. While passing on Justice may have been a good idea as he isn’t living up to his potential, Myles Turner went 11th and Devin Booker went 13th. I can see why Booker wasn’t taken, because you never know with a Kentucky one and done.

Charlotte maybe should have looked into Myles Turner some more. Turner is becoming a very skilled player in the league and improving more each season. Kaminsky has done well for the Hornets as he is a solid man of the bench and is a good replacement if the starting Power Forward or Center is out.

Then with the 39th pick, Juan Pablo Vaulet from Argentina was selected. Not many people knew who he was but he was 6’6” and looked decent. Well, he hasn’t appeared in the NBA yet. The next pick went on to be Josh Richardson from the Miami Heat. Richardson is a defensive nightmare and is becoming a very solid NBA player.
