The teams that could use him but probably don’t want him:

Brooklyn Nets: This would go against everything they’ve done the past several seasons. They are building up their team with a strong system (that would admittedly fit Kemba’s skill-set, but still) and youth. Plus, D’Angelo Russell still exists…right?

Chicago Bulls: I am lower on Dunn than most, but this is similar to the Nets situation. No use for a 28-year-old PG who needs a near-max soon.

Detroit Pistons: Drummond for Kemba plus a contract makes sense from a basketball perspective, but Drummond is too young and has too much potential left for the Pistons to go for this. Plus, Reggie Jackson costs around $20 million the next two years. Goodness gracious…

Minnesota Timberwolves: He’d fit well as a basketball player, but, from a money perspective, they couldn’t find room for him to re-sign alongside KAT and Wiggins, let alone Butler and Teague (and Dieng LOL). Tibbs would like him, though.

New York Knicks: I don’t hate the idea of a deal here, but they are rightfully seeing what they have with Franky Nicotine and the Summer League Hero Kevin Knox. Kemba also certainly does not fit with the KP timeline around which this team must be built.

Phoenix Suns: A timeline and fit issue. Booker and Ayton are the future here, and they don’t need another expensive, offensive-minded guard in the backcourt.

That’s six more out of the running.
