Point guard Marcus Paige is set to play overseas next season after spending only one year with the Charlotte Hornets.
According to EuroHoops.net, Marcus Paige has joined Serbian club KK Partizan. He played last season with the Charlotte Hornets as one of their two-way players. The 24-year old appeared in five games for the team and spent most of the 2017-18 season in the G-League with the Greensboro Swarm.
Paige signed a two-year deal with Partizan NIS Belgrade. He will get the chance to play in both the ABA League and the EuroCup next season. Last season, the club finished fifth in the Adriatic League and won the Radivoj Korać Cup.
In his five games with the Hornets, Marcus averaged 2.4 points per game, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.6 assists. He managed to shoot 28.6% from the field, 25% from three, and 100% from the free throw line in 5.6 minutes per game. His best outing came against the Memphis Grizzlies where he had nine points and two assists in 12 minutes.

As I said before, the former North Carolina Tar Heel spent most of the 2017-18 campaign in the G-League. Paige put up 15.2 PPG, 4.4 APG, 3.0 RPG, and 1.4 SPG while shooting 42.8% from the field, 37.3% from deep, and 84.7% from the charity stripe for the Greensboro Swarm. He started in 39 of 46 total games for Charlotte’s G-League affiliate.
Partizan NIS Belgrade is one of the biggest clubs in Serbia. They have the most Adriatic League Titles with six and the most Serbian League Titles with eight.
Marcus Paige is expected to be their starting point guard next season and will look to lead the Serbian club to glory.
A number of former NBA players have played for KK Partizan including Nenad Kristić, Nikola Peković, Jan Vesely, Joffrey Lauvergne, and Bogdan Bogdanović. Former Charlotte Hornet Vlade Divac even played for the Serbian club.
Marcus Paige had a quiet lone season with the Charlotte Hornets but he did make history as one of the team’s first two-way players. He also played an important role with the Greensboro Swarm and his production will be difficult to replace next season.
