8. First game vs LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers

The talk of the summer was LeBron’s choice to head west and join the Los Angeles Lakers. Charlotte will host The King and his new team early in the season in one of their only two meetings with James. It will be the middle game of a five-game homestand for the Hornets.

The Queen City team’s first meeting with LeBron and the Lakers will be on Saturday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. EST. James has historically dominated Charlotte but their luck may change now that he is no longer in the Eastern Conference.

7. Day After Christmas @ Brooklyn Nets

Charlotte may not be playing on Christmas Day but they will be playing on the day after Christmas. The Hornets will travel to Brooklyn to take on the Nets on Wednesday, December 26th and the game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m. EST. It will be the first game of a home-and-home series between the two sides.

It may not be a primetime game but after the chaos of Christmas has calmed down, this is the perfect game to watch. Plus, this is probably the closest Charlotte may ever get to playing on Christmas Day. At least for the foreseeable future.
