Miles Bridges looked right at home against Carmelo Anthony as the Charlotte Hornets’ rookie played in pickup games with top players.

In videos posted by cbrickley603, it shows Charlotte Hornets‘ rookie Miles Bridges playing in pickup games against some elite NBA players. The young forward is going up against the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Trae Young, Lance Stephenson, Mo Bamba, and Enes Kanter.

Other NBA players in the video include Wilson Chandler, Isaiah Briscoe, and Tim Hardaway Jr. while fellow rookies Hamidou Diallo and Anfernee Simons were also featured. Former NBA player Chris Smith and University of Minnesota standout Isaiah Washington were there as well. That is a lot of talent on one court.

There are few things to get excited about during the summer lull where there are no NBA games and training camp is still weeks away but this should excite Hornets’ fans. Although there are only short video clips of the pickup game, this is only the second look we’ve gotten at Miles since Charlotte drafted him this summer.

More from Swarm and Sting

Out first look at Bridges came during the Las Vegas Summer League where he looked impressive against high-level talent. This is a completely different world as the rookie went up against veteran NBA players in a pickup game format rather than a professional format with referees, shot clocks, and stats.

Although Melo is a bit past his prime, there is still a lot that Miles could learn from the future first-ballot Hall of Fame forward. Bridges even posted a few photos of himself going up against Carmelo Anthony on his Instagram and captioned it “Rookie and the vet.” In the video, you can see Miles throw down some highlight-worthy dunks, drive the lane, knock down a few outside jumpers, and even hit a tough fadeaway.

Here is a video posted by our very own Noah Purser of Miles Bridges’ highlights from the pickup games:

If you remember last year, Malik Monk worked out with Chris Paul, Harry Giles, Elfird Payton, and Donovan Mitchell during the summer.

Bottom line is that this is a great and productive way for Miles Bridges to spend his summer. He is playing against NBA players and gaining some important experience against a future Hall of Famer and upcoming opponents for the 2018-19 season. The Charlotte Hornets’ rookie actually looked pretty impressive even though it was just a pickup game.
