The Charlotte Hornets look to have a bounce-back game at home, following a tough loss to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.

After a terrible loss in Chicago on Wednesday night, the Charlotte Hornets look to turn things around at home against the Bulls. The Hornets are currently (2-3), and the team looks to even their record out with a win over an injured Bulls team (1-3). The Hornets will need to limit turnovers and pick up their rebounding numbers; just as fellow Swarm and Sting writer Elijah Edwards, stated in his game preview.

Something that stood out in the loss to Chicago, was the perimeter shooting of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. This former Wildcat out of Kentucky had not hit a three since the 2016-2017 season; not to mention, he even made two in the same game. Perhaps Kidd-Gilchrist has found his role on the team for now; that is being a key role player off the bench.

The Hornets will need to limit the perimeter shooting of the Bulls tonight. In the previous game, the Bulls were able to knock down ten threes; with Cameron Payne making seven of them. It is also essential for Charlotte lock-in defensively against Zach LaVine, as he was able to drop thirty-two points on the team.

Prediction Thoughts

Based on this prediction by NBA 2k, the Hornets look to have a good game as they return home to Charlotte. This game features Willy Hernangomez dominating off the bench, and Kemba Walker dicing up the Bulls’ defense. The Bulls will be without Bobby Portis tonight, as they lost him to a knee injury; this opens up many opportunities for paint scoring and can help the Hornets improve their rebounding numbers.

In order for this win to happen, the Hornets must also score quickly, and look to lock-down Zack Lavine and Cameron Payne. The bench will have an important role tonight because it is important to keep the team’s starters fresh. With Portis out for tonight, Chicago will be even more limited to who they can go to off the bench. In the end, the Hornets should look to not spend all night with this game, because they must fly to Philadelphia tomorrow to play the 76ers.
