Charlotte Hornets: Tony Parker has Career Game off the Bench

In a thrilling win over the Miami Heat, Tony Parker lead the Hornets in scoring and came off the bench with a double-double. 

On the day before Halloween, the Charlotte Hornets were able to come back to Buzz City and pull off a win in front of their home fans against the Miami Heat. The highlight of this game was the Hornets’ bench play, as they were able to score a combined total of sixty-six points!

A big thanks for this scoring outburst by the bench is Tony Parker, as he contributed twenty-four points and eleven assists; deeming him the leading scorer and assister between both teams.

For a point guard to have these type of numbers off of the bench, it can only mean that Charlotte made the right decision in signing him. Tony Parker is letting opposing teams know that he is not done yet,

In this thrilling win, Tony Parker was able to pass the career mark in points with nineteen thousand. Parker also moved into 54th place in all-time scoring in the NBA; passing Dale Ellis, and finishing the night with 19,009 points.

Parker will additionally have the chance to move up another slot in Thursday’s game against the Thunder; he would only have to score seven points. With the way Parker has been scoring lately, the current holder for the 53rd spot, Reggie Theus, might as well say bye to his ranking.

The scoring output of Parker is what the Hornets have been lacking for a long time at the backup point guard position. When the bench for the Hornets is playing well, typically the Hornets are doing very well.

As of now, Tony Parker is one of the fan favorites for the Hornets. He has been electrifying and is going to be a vital player for the Hornets for the entire season to come.

Final Thoughts

It almost feels as if the Hornets have there very own big three of the bench. As of right now, the big three would be Tony Parker, Malik Monk, and Micahel Kidd-Gilchrist.

The three players were able to combine for a whopping fifty-eight points in the win over Miami. While Miles Bridges was held scoreless last night, this is something that will change in the Hornets’ next game against the Thunder.

On Thursday, Parker will get to face off with the former Atlanta Hawk, and now Thunder bench player, Dennis Schroder. Look for Parker to remain aggressive, and have another great game off the bench.
