3. Dwight Howard (Hornets ’17–’18)

Dwight Howard was acquired by Hornets by way of a trade that sent Miles Plumlee and Marco Belinelli to the Atlanta Hawks.

Howard only spent a short amount of time with the team, but in his one-year campaign with Charlotte, he was deserving of the number three spot on our list. With the Charlotte Hornets, Howard averaged 16.6 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.

Howard was a dominant force for the Hornets, and many felt that he was snubbed from the All-Star game last season. Dwight was ultimately traded at the end of last season to the Brooklyn Nets for Timofey Mozgov. Howard would then later be released and then picked up by the Washinton Wizards.

While with the Hornets, Howard recorded fifty-three double-doubles with the Hornets; even having had a thirty-three point and thirty rebound game against the Nets. This ended up being the first thirty-thirty game for the NBA, since the one that Kevin Love had when he was with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2010.

Howard will always be remembered as a dominant center for the Hornets, despite his poor free-throw shooting percentage. How will the Hornets strategize when they take on Howard this season? Hopefully, they have a plan, because Howard typically plays well against his former teams.
