Charlotte Hornets: Five things that the fans want to see
1. Playoff basketball back in Charlotte
We need to see the Charlotte Hornets back in the NBA Playoffs, where they belong. The fan base deserves it, and they realistically have a good chance to return to the postseason this year.
The hiring of General Manager Mitch Kupchak was questioned by many at the time, which is understandable, considering how his run with the Los Angeles Lakers ended. However, Kupchak made some really good decisions during the off-season, and has this team in the mix for a playoff spot.
Charlotte hasn’t been in the playoffs since the 2015-16 season, where they lost an entertaining first round series against the Miami Heat. Since then, they haven’t bottomed out or tanked, but they just couldn’t get over the hump.
With Kemba Walker in the prime of his career, the time is now for the Hornets to make a run. If they get back to the playoffs, I think it’s very likely Kemba continues to wear a Hornets uniform.
I expect that to change this year. The hiring of James Borrego was one of the best things to happen for the franchise in a long time, and I expect him to lead the Charlotte Hornets back to the NBA Playoffs.
