11/21 vs Indiana Pacers

The first meeting between the Charlotte Hornets and the Indiana Pacers will take place on the 21st, and it figures to be a good one. The Pacers surprised the NBA last season by winning 48 games and taking the Cleveland Cavaliers to seven games in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

They won’t be surprising anyone this year, though. The Pacers proved they are legit contenders in the Eastern Conference, and they are going to be a tough out against any team. Like Boston, Indiana is another team that plays great defense and plays a slower brand of basketball.

Indiana has a 106.0 defensive rating, good for 7th best in the NBA. They rank 29th in pace, with the Memphis Grizzlies being the only team behind them.

Keys for this game would be to again push the pace and look to score early in the shot clock, attack the glass (Indiana ranks 28th in rebounding) and try to contain the stellar Victor Oladipo and the improving Domantas Sabonis.

It’s going to be a fun, tough game for the Hornets, but they have shown that they can compete with any team in this league.
