SG. . Kentucky. Wildcats. MALIK MONK

This NBA sophomore was taken by the Hornets at the 11th spot in the 2017 NBA draft. Many felt that Malik Monk was taken too late in the first round, but the Hornets are not complaining.

The Hornets have lacked a relentless scorer for awhile, and Monk is definitely not afraid to shoot the basketball. While he had a poor shooting night in the loss to the Cavaliers, it should not discourage the young shooting guard.

If Monk could become slightly more consistent, it could earn him a spot in the starting lineup. Currently, he is averaging 12.1 points and 2.6 assists per game coming off of the bench.

It is without a doubt that Monk is getting more playing time than he received last year. Due to the failed Steve Clifford experiment, Monk was not able to progress at a consistent rate during his rookie campaign.

Malik Monk has the chance to be a dangerous three-point shooter just has Hornets legend, Dell Curry. Currently, he has made 110 threes as a Hornets; putting at 29th all-time in three-pointers made with the team.

If Monk connects on sixty-seven more threes this season, he will pass Larry Johnson and move into at the 18th spot all-time in threes made with the team. This is an impressive rank to have, while only being a second-year player for Charlotte.
