Devonte’ Graham was the 34th pick in the NBA draft. He was initially drafted by the Atlanta Hawks, and then later traded to the Hornets for two second-round picks.
Graham was easily the diamond in the round when it came to when he was drafted. He was a four-year player in college; this helped build his maturity and get more experience.
While Graham has not seen a lot of playing time with the Hornets, he has been transferred to the Greensboro Swarm on multiple occasions. Recently, he earned the honors of G-League player of the week for his impressive play with the Swarm.
The main question is, how will Graham react to getting consistent minutes off the bench for Charlotte? It is possible that if the Hornets decide to let Tony Parker rest for a game, we will see more playing time for the rookie point guard.
It will be interesting to see which of these players take the next step and become an essential piece of the Hornets’ franchise like Kemba Walker. Look for players like Dwayne Bacon, and Miles Bridges to receive more playing time on Saturday because of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s injury.
