Miami Heat

In recent years, it seemed as if Hassan Whiteside‘s trade value was dwindling, but with his play so far this season, his value is skyrocketing.

Whiteside is a double-double machine, and one of the best shot blockers in the league. Cody Zeller is a solid starting center in this league, but Whiteside is on a different tier, which makes him an intriguing target for the Hornets.

Personally, I’m not so sure I would give up this much for Whiteside, but with the Hornets desperate to make the playoffs, it wouldn’t surprise me to consider a move like this. When Whiteside is locked in and playing focused, he is a really good player.

I could see Whiteside playing a role similar to how Dwight Howard played in Charlotte last season. Despite Dwight’s reputation, he was very good for the Hornets for the one season he was there.

Miami would replace Whiteside with Zeller at center, and would be getting two young players in Malik Monk and Frank Kaminsky that they can work with and develop. Plus, another first round pick for a team that has struggled at times this year. Despite the protection, the Heat would likely end up keeping the draft pick.
