2. How have the rookies performed his month?

Giovanni Spillman: While rookie Devonte’ Graham has not seen a lot of NBA minutes so far this season, his rookie counterpart Miles Bridges is another story. Bridges is currently averaging 7.3 points and four rebounds per game; his dunks have added a lot of Buzz to his style of play. Bridges has the opportunity to move into a possible power-forward spot for the Hornets if the team decides to keep Nicolas Batum at his current spot.

Zachary Padmore: Miles Bridges is a key piece off of the Hornets bench, whereas Devonte’ Graham will be spending a good portion of his season in the G-League. I don’t think Miles is shooting the ball well enough from the perimeter, but he makes up for it with his energy and athleticism.

Elijah Edwards: Miles Bridges has given the Hornets solid minutes off the bench. He’s also provided some nice highlight reels with his high-flying dunks. I feel like most fans would like to see him in the dunk contest, as well. He’s shooting 52% from the floor and almost 38$ from behind the arc, so I think he fits in nicely. I don’t feel like we’ve seen enough of Devonte Graham to accurately assess what brings to the table. He’s only played in six games thus far, but what he’s done in the G-League has been fairly impressive.

De White: I definitely like the way that they’ve been playing and the potential that they’ve shown. Miles Bridges has so much potential and we don’t get to see that much of it because he’s still young and has a passer’s mindset; the man can ball, I just wished he’d try to score a bit more. I believe he could definitely challenge Batum and Williams for those forward positions in due time.

Devonte’ Graham, on the other hand, is a nice piece for the close future. He already seems to be pretty decent at passing the ball to players in scoring position, and he has the range and potential to be a shooter. He’s like a minimally taller version of how Kemba Walker was when he first got into the league. I love his potential and his pesky defense, and I have no doubts that he’ll only get better from learning behind Walker and Tony Parker.

Stephen Waniewski: This month has been encouraging for the rookies, especially Miles Bridges. Sky Miles has logged impressive highlights and valuable minutes, both of which have been noticed by fans around the league. Also, as the season progresses and playing time increases, look for exponential production from Bridges as well as Graham.

Nick Cipriani: Devonte’s sample size was small, but I am pleased with his ball control. Miles and Devonte will excel more once Borrego takes the rains of a little bit. Both Miles and Devonte need to build up confidence. Both are superior athletes at their positions, and once they are entirely comfortable with the speed that the game is played, they will make better decisions on the floor. Miles is a freakish athlete; he is improving on the defensive end as well. He still lacks the pure scoring ability, and his shoot/pass/drive decision making needs improvement. His athleticism will only take him so far. We do not want another MKG.
