3. After this month, who should the Charlotte Hornets trade for?

Giovanni Spillman: During this month, there has been much speculation on Bradley Beal possibly joining the Hornets. Last week, the media went wild when it was reported that Charlotte had contacted the Washington Wizards, and inquired on Beal. I like Beal, but with the production of Jeremy Lamb and his near twenty points per game in the last seven games; a shooting guard may not be ideal. I would like Charlotte to target a stretch big, and make us a better perimeter shooting team.

Zachary Padmore: It’s no secret that the Hornets need to upgrade the roster and put some pieces around Kemba Walker, which leads me to believe that they should continue to pursue Washington’s, Bradley Beal. He would compliment Kemba very well, but it’s going to be very difficult prying him away from the Wizards.

Elijah Edwards: The obvious answer would be Bradley Beal, but I’m not sure how you make it work. A lot of people seem to think they should upgrade at the power forward position. Kevin Love is a name people have suggested, but he’s out with an injury until the beginning of January. Aaron Gordon seems like a promising asset to acquire in that situation.

De White: I’m still excited about the possibility of trading for Bradley Beal of course, but Jeremy Lamb is playing great, and somehow we’re still not where we want to be. Yeah, Beal is a better two-way player, and on defense, he could slow down more players with his bigger frame, but I’m more inclined to believe that we’re in need of a better stretch big. I love Willy Hernangomez‘s game and potential, and he could be what we envision to fill that role in the near future, but we need results now, and I don’t think Cody Zeller is quite the player we need at the moment.

We all love him for sure, but we need more production from our big men. I’d really like to see us go with centers Willie Cauley-Stein, Nikola Vucevic, Kyle O’Quinn, or my favorite big Nikola Miroc. All of these players are big, offensively gifted, and could offer more points from a wider range of places. I would lose my mind if the team somehow managed to trade for Beal AND somehow land Miroc in the next year. But I think Mitch Kupchak has some moves that he’s eying, and he’s definitely a game changer for us. So I trust that he’s going to make us better WITH Kemba.

Must Read. Do the Charlotte Hornets need help at shooting guard?. light

Stephen Waniewski: Looking at the roster, it’s clear the Hornets have salary issues and a need for a second scorer. The problem, quality scoring doesn’t come cheap. I trust GM Mitch Kupchak to make smart moves that will focus on keeping Kemba happy for the long-term in Charlotte. While speculated additions of Love or Beal are juicy, their salary and other issues are cumbersome. With a loaded 2019 draft, I would prefer acquiring lottery picks. Imagine Bol, Gafford, or (dare I say) one of the Duke trios with Kemba.

Nick Cipriani: Everyone in Buzz City wants Bradley Beal, including myself. But, I would not let Lamb go, and it is nearly impossible for anyone to take on Batum’s contract. If we could get a strong scoring Power Forward, someone who is athletic and is classy in the paint as well as a consistent shooter from mid-range, then we need to. I am in the 1% who does want to clean house to get Beal. Drop the mic.
