Justin Holiday and Robin Lopez are two veterans that have been available for trade for quite a while now. They can both help any playoff team. Holiday is a good three-point shooter, and Lopez has always been a force around the basket.

With this trade, Charlotte would be able to dump Bismack Biyombo‘s salary. Losing a first round pick isn’t ideal, but with the Charlotte Hornets so focused on making the playoffs, you may have to part ways with that pick. Holiday and Lopez are both on expiring contracts, so it also gives the team some extra wiggle room financially.

Charlotte has had some questionable depth behind Cody Zeller at the center position, so landing someone like Lopez would bring some stability off the bench. Holiday could fit in on any team, really. He’s shooting just about 40 percent from downtown this season, and has the length to defend multiple positions.

I think that both Holiday and Lopez would step into the Hornets rotation right away and make an impact.

This is a win-win trade for both sides. Chicago adds another draft pick to accelerate their rebuild, and Charlotte gets two players that will help them win some games immediately.
