Buzz City Beat is Swarm and Sting’s one stop for the latest news and stories from around the internet surrounding the Charlotte Hornets.

Despite what could have been a win for the Charlotte Hornets, the team fell on the road to the Minnesota Timberwolves last night. In this game, they were up by over ten points at one point.

In this edition of Buzz City Beat, we are bringing you news based on Kemba Walker’s record that he broke, thoughts on Nicolas Batum, An interview released on Assistant coach Jay Hernandez, and a mock draft.

Hornets Can’t Keep KAT in Check (Hornets.com)

"“Kemba Walker (15 points) joined Batum and Lamb scoring in double digits in the starting lineup while also making his franchise-best 502nd start, passing Muggsy Bogues (501). Frank Kaminsky, Miles Bridges and Malik Monk all added 10 points apiece off the bench.”"

In the loss to the Timberwolves, Charlotte Hornets’ point guard Kemba Walker was able to break an all-time team record in games started for Charlotte. The former record holder was held by Hornets’ legend Muggsy Bogues, who now is second all-time in starts with 501.

It is impressive to see the durability from the Hornets’ starting point guard. Many teams always seem to have to deal with injury issues with a star player, but the Hornets have been lucky so far to have such a durable point guard.

Hornets’ Nicolas Batum: Team-high 36 minutes in loss (CBSsports.com)

"“Batum finished with 18 points (7-17 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight assists, seven rebounds, and one steal in 36 minutes during Wednesday’s 121-104 loss to the Timberwolves.Batum was in vintage form Wednesday, putting forth his best game of the season. Batum has, by all accounts, had a disappointing start to his campaign.”"

Despite losing to the Timberwolves, Batum looked like his old self with his scoring and playmaking. He was very close to getting a triple-double; the Hornets need this kind of productivity from him every night.

Nic started the season very slow, and it seems something has motivated him to improve his performances. Could this new found motivation be based on internal trade rumors?

Jay Hernandez – Charlotte Hornets Assistant Coach, Entrepreneur, Father, and Muay Thai Fighter (NBAcoaches.com)

In his first season with the Charlotte Hornets, the former Orlando Magic coach has been making strides with the coaching staff. The Hornets have needed a coach who is great with player development in recent years.

The above video is a great way for you to get to know the assistant coach for your Hornets. It will be interesting to see the impact he has on the development of Miles Bridges throughout the season.

2019 NBA Mock Draft: Can Anyone Catch Duke’s Zion Williamson for the No. 1 Spot? (BleacherReport.com)

"“15. Charlotte Hornets: Rui Hachimura (Gonzaga, PF, Junior)Hachimura is making the jump from role player to college basketball star (21.9 points, 60.6 FG%), and at 6’8″ with athleticism and scoring versatility, he’s going to generate plenty of discussion among NBA teams.”"

In this updated mock draft, Bleacher Report has the Hornets drafting with the fifteenth spot in the NBA Draft. With this projected number, it can only mean that these analysts do not expect Charlotte to make the playoffs.

The player that Bleacher Report picked for the Hornets is not a bad pick. Hachimura has been a crazy player for Gonzaga, and he may find his way to Charlotte since the team is lacking a true power forward.

Next. Frank Kaminsky worthy of rotation minutes?. dark

The Charlotte Hornets will look to end their three-game losing streak Friday night against the Denver Nuggets at 7 pm EST in Charlotte. The Hornets will need to come out energized if they hope to get a win over #1 team in the West.
