The top three key contributors on this Charlotte squad were Jason Richardson (18.7 PPG), Gerald Wallace (16.6 PPG and 7.8 RPG), and Boris Diaw (15.1 PPG). This season did not feature a lot scoring as Hornet fans are accustomed to with Kemba Walker.
Following this season of Charlotte Basketball, the Bobcats would select Gerald Henderson in the first round of the NBA 2009 Draft. They would also recall Sean Singletary and Alexis Ajinca from the Sioux Falls Skyforce two months before.
While this season was not overly impressive, it would pave the way for a playoff run in the following season. Things were looking up, and Charlotte basketball was officially returning to the playoffs.
