5. Chance at the playoffs

The Charlotte Hornets have missed the playoffs for two seasons in a row, but there’s a chance that things could change this season.

Like I mentioned earlier, Charlotte currently has a record of 17-17, good for the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. They’ve firmly been in the playoff mix for the entire season, and barring any injuries, I expect them to fight for a spot in the playoffs up until the final game of the regular season.

The last time we saw the Hornets in the playoffs, they lost to the Miami Heat in the first round. That was during the 2015-16 season. It was an exciting seven-game series, but a disappointing end to a strong season for the Hornets.

Since then, the Hornets have won 36 games two seasons in a row. Things have changed, though, and with James Borrego running the show as the Head Coach, this team has hope, direction and stability.

The Hornets are undoubtedly talented, and have a roster that could certainly sneak into the playoffs in the weaker Eastern Conference. With Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb leading the way, this Hornets squad could return to postseason action, and that’s what the fans deserve to see.
