2. Trade Deadline

The trade deadline is always super fun, just look back at what went down last season. The Cleveland Cavaliers traded away six players in a matter of hours, completely changing the complexion of the team.

With the Charlotte Hornets so focused and determined on making it into the playoffs, it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see General Manager Mitch Kupchak and company make at least one move to help the team.

I’ve got a feeling that, like last season, multiple teams around the league will be trade hungry. With the Eastern Conference so wide open compared to the Western Conference, teams like the Hornets could (and should) be aggressive on the trade front.

We here at Swarm and Sting have discussed multiple trade scenarios over the past few weeks. It’s clear that the team is going to need to put some more talent around Kemba Walker, especially if they want to keep him in free agency.

The trade deadline is on February 7th. We are coming up on that date pretty quickly, so you can expect the rumor mill to be very active from now until then. Will the Charlotte Hornets make a move? That remains to be seen.
