Kemba Walker’s 60-point effort

In a game earlier this season, Kemba Walker scored a career-high 60 points against the Philadelphia 76ers. It was the franchise record for most points scored in game. Unfortunately, it came in a loss, once again.

Dropping 60 points in a game is an incredible accomplishment, especially for a 6’1″ guard. He was pretty much carrying the Hornets throughout the game, only to eventually lose thanks to a game-winning bucket from Jimmy Butler.

The 60 point effort was just another example of Kemba Walker’s greatness. He’s the Hornets all-time leading scorer for a reason. He’s looked like a superstar this season for the Hornets, and he deserves every bit of praise he receives.

Kemba remains the only player in the NBA to score 60 points in a game this season. The player who has come the closest is James Harden, who had 54 points in an overtime loss to the Wizards earlier this season.

This was a performance that had Hornets fans buzzing, along with national media around the league. It won’t be forgotten, either. It was one of Kemba’s best performances of his career, but in the end, it came in a loss, which was a tough pill to swallow.
