Charlotte Hornets: 5 trade destinations for Frank Kaminsky
Oklahoma City Thunder
What makes this a good match? Three-point shooting. Oklahoma City lacks shooters, and they should prioritize acquiring one at some point this season. Kaminsky could be a good fit off of the Thunder bench.
The Oklahoma City Thunder rank dead last in the NBA in three-point field goal percentage at 32 percent. The only serious three-point threats on their team are Paul George and Alex Abrines. Abrines had a 25 point game against Charlotte earlier this year, hitting five three-pointers in the Thunder victory.
Kaminsky would instantly become the best shooting big man on that roster, and could be able to carve out a pretty nice role on a contending team in Oklahoma City. Plus, with the Thunder in win-now mode, they may be willing to sacrifice assets in order to acquire an impact player like Kaminsky.
When teams are going up against the Thunder, they put some much attention and pressure on guarding Paul George and Russell Westbrook. Kaminsky could have the opportunity to get open looks from the perimeter off of penetration from those two stars, then he’s just got to knock down the open looks.
It seems like a good match. Oklahoma City should be in the market for a shooter, that’s for sure.
