New York Knicks

It wouldn’t hurt for a rebuilding team like the New York Knicks to take a chance on a guy like Kaminsky and see what he can do for the remainder of this season. Remember, the Knicks did have interest in Kaminsky prior to the 2015 NBA Draft. He had a pre-draft workout with the team and had dinner with the front office.

Things have changed since then, of course. New York has a brand new front office now, so it’s unclear if that interest in Kaminsky has deteriorated, especially with his play over the past four seasons.

Still, Kristaps Porzingis may not even play this year, so this season is all about developing players for New York. It wouldn’t be a massive risk for the Knicks to trade for Kaminsky, unless they trade the kitchen sink, which shouldn’t happen for a player of Kaminsky’s caliber.

Maybe the Knicks would be willing to move a veteran player, like Courtney Lee, for a younger player, like Frank Kaminsky. Charlotte is looking to win right now and assemble pieces for a playoff run, while the Knicks want to rebuild and focus on the future.

New York may be active as we creep up on February’s Trade Deadline. Could they have their eyes on Frank the Tank? We’ll see.
