Championship experience

Outside of Tony Parker, this Charlotte Hornets team lacks championship experience. As a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, Love won an NBA championship after the Cavs came back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Golden State Warriors.

We’ve seen all season long how big of an impact Parker has made for Charlotte. He’s been huge on and off the court, winning games for the team and providing veteran leadership for some of the younger players on the roster.

After LeBron James signed with the Los Angeles Lakers during the off-season, Love assumed the Cavaliers would remain competitive in the Eastern Conference, but that hasn’t been the case. They are at the bottom of the standings and have no use for a guy like Love, who belongs on a playoff team.

It wouldn’t be surprising at all if Love is wearing a different uniform before the trade deadline on February 7th. He has also drawn interest from the Dallas Mavericks, according to a recent report from Sam Amico of AmicoHoops.

The Hornets have a chance to make the playoffs without Love, but if they decide to add him to the equation, that would really boost their chances of making it back to the postseason.
