With the Philadelphia 76ers looking for a stretch big man, could Frank Kaminsky of the Charlotte Hornets be a potential target?

Contending teams around the league are looking to improve their roster as they look to make a playoff push. That includes teams like the Philadelphia 76ers and Charlotte Hornets.

According to SportingNews, the 76ers have interest in adding a big man that can shoot. The report mentioned Mike Scott, Noah Vonleh and Charlotte Hornets big Frank Kaminsky as possible candidates.

Scott and Vonleh would probably be more attractive targets for the 76ers, but Kaminsky would likely be the most attainable of the trio.

The 76ers traded a reliable stretch-four in Dario Saric earlier this season. He was included in the trade that sent Jimmy Butler to Philadelphia. Now, they lack a stretch-four, and with the Hornets making Kaminsky available for trade, he could be the player the Sixers are searching for.

SportingNews also reported earlier this month that the Hornets are ready to trade Kaminsky, who will be a free agent at the end of the season. He should generate interest around the league thanks to his three-point shooting and size in the front court.

If Philadelphia is willing to include a draft pick in a trade for Kaminsky, the Charlotte Hornets must take a strong look at a deal with the 76ers. Kaminsky’s future in Charlotte is clearly just about over, so you might as well go and get something for him, especially if it’s an asset like a draft pick.

Kaminsky is still 25 years old and does have some upside. He’s averaging 5.6 points and 2.5 rebounds for Charlotte this year. He’s been out of the rotation lately, but the team may want to consider giving him some more playing time in order to boost his trade value prior to the trade deadline on February 7th.

He would be a solid fit on a 76ers team looking to make a deep run in the playoffs. Philadelphia ranks 15th in the league in three-point percentage, and that ranking could climb higher with a potential addition of Kaminsky. He could come off the bench and be a three-point shooting threat.

Kaminsky is certainly a name to keep an eye on as we inch closer and closer to the trade deadline. There’s a definite chance that his days in a Charlotte Hornets uniform are numbered.
