The NBA trade deadline is on February 7th, and the Charlotte Hornets figure to be one of the more active teams going into it.

Things are getting interesting for the Charlotte Hornets, and things will start to get crazy as we inch closer to the trade deadline, which is next month. While the Hornets don’t have the sexiest trade appeal, they are expected to be active prior to the big day, for better or worse.

Plenty of things can happen between now and February 7th, which is why this is a potentially key stretch for the direction of the franchise. If things are looking good, do you look to add talent at the deadline? If things are going south, do you chase assets and try to start over?

We did see the Charlotte Hornets make a quiet but effective trade last season, bringing in Willy Hernangomez from the New York Knicks. It turned out to be a good deal, as Hernangomez has emerged as a rotation player for the Hornets.

If this years trade deadline is anything like last years, then we are sure in for a treat. The NBA world was shocked when the Cleveland Cavaliers traded away six players, which caught mostly everyone off guard.

I don’t think the Hornets will be trading away quite that many players, but it’s still intriguing to think about what pieces could possibly be moving. With that being said, let’s dive in and look at the five Charlotte Hornets players that are most likely to be traded by February 7th.
