3. Bismack Biyombo

The Charlotte Hornets have already been rumored to be shopping Bismack Biyombo, and those rumors could escalate as we get closer to the deadline.

Biyombo, who is widely considered to have one of the worst contracts in the league, is enjoying a nice starting role with the team due to Cody Zeller‘s hand injury. He’s averaging 7.9 points and 8.1 rebounds in the month of January so far. His production during this stretch could increase his trade value around the league.

On the season, Biyombo is averaging 4.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest. That’s pretty good production from Biyombo, who entered the season as the teams third-string center behind Cody Zeller and Willy Hernangomez.

His value was at an all-time high in 2016 with the Toronto Raptors. He cashed in that summer, signing a four-year, $72 million deal with the Orlando Magic. Things have been shaky since then, but his current run could perhaps be a reclamation project.

He is only 26 years old, and is a proven shot-blocker. Biz could certainly be an option for a team looking to add some depth to their front court as we get into the later stages of the regular season, even with the high amount of money he is owed.
