Bismack Biyombo

Bismack Biyombo is going to be a harder player for the Charlotte Hornets to trade due to his contract, but with his recent play, he may be increasing his value around the league.

He’s coming off an 11 point, 13 rebound and 5 block performance against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night, and has been awesome for the Hornets since Cody Zeller went down with a fractured hand.

Biyombo is averaging 6.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in the month of January. The Hornets were rumored to be looking to trade him earlier this month.

With that being said, he still is on a bad contract. He has a player option for next season, and he will very likely opt in. He’ll be making $17 million next season. Teams may be hesitant to trade for him, even if he has just one year left on his contract after this year.

If the Hornets want some extra cap space, they could look to attach a draft pick with Biyombo and see if there are any takers. If not, maybe holding on to him would be fine, considering he’s a solid third-string center and is always ready to play when his number is called.
