With the recent Anthony Davis drama in New Orleans, will the Charlotte Hornets make a trade pitch before the deadline?

With the trade deadline approaching, the Charlotte Hornets are desperate to make a trade that will help Kemba Walker, as well as helping the team make the postseason. There are a lot of players that the Hornets can target, but this article will be a hail mary trade that the Hornets could try.

With all of the rumors going around the NBA about superstar Anthony Davis, the Hornets should at least get the chance to make a deal. The proposed trade in this article is a nice one that the Hornets could offer to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Before anyone freaks out about this trade, just hear me out. With the drama going on between the Pelicans and Davis, the team could be willing to dump Davis with any team that makes a reasonable offer.

This trade would work for both teams, allowing both teams to financially be okay. This trade would allow the Pelicans to get some young players for the future, and it would not hurt Charlotte’s bench depth.

This trade would allow Charlotte to keep four starters that they started the year with. The Hornets have the bench depth to make this trade happen.

Davis was selected in the 2012 NBA Draft at the #1 overall pick, a pick that Charlotte could have easily got in that draft after finishing the season 7-59. Having Davis come to the team that should’ve drafted him would be nice.

On the season this year, Davis is averaging 29.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game. He is a huge superstar that would help Kemba Walker in the scoring department.

Kemba Walker is an NBA All-Star who deserves to play with another All-Star. While this trade idea may give up a player like Malik Monk, I feel that Charlotte would be getting more production with Anthony Davis.

The NBA trade deadline is set to occur on Thursday, February 7th, at 3 p.m. ET. With time winding down until the trade deadline, the Hornets are getting closer to making a trade happen.
