Gasol’s potential arrival gives team a clear direction

It has to be tough to play not knowing the direction that your ball club is headed.

That was the case for Marc Gasol earlier this season, but now that he’s been heavily involved in trade talks, it’s clear that the Grizzlies are shifting their focus towards rebuilding for the future.

Memphis actually got off to a hot start to open the season, and even had the number one seed in the Western Conference at one point. Boy, things change quickly, huh? Now, Memphis has a record of 22-33 and will likely be in the Draft Lottery once again this year.

With the Hornets interested in his services, it shows that the team is all-in on winning right now and making in into the playoffs. Kemba Walker has only been to the playoffs twice in his career, so adding a star like Gasol should make him feel more comfortable in terms of winning with this team.

Walker has made it clear that he would be open to the idea of remaining with the Hornets, so the organization going out and showing him that the team wants a winning mentality is pretty big and could have an impact on Kemba come free agency.
