During last night’s All-Star draft, Charlotte Hornets star point guard Kemba Walker was selected to play for Giannis Antetokounmpo’s team.

Not only is Charlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker starting in the All-Star game, he’ll be playing along side captain Giannis Antetokounmpo, after the Greek Freak made Walker his final selection among the All-Star starters.

The starters for Team Giannis are Stephen Curry, Kemba Walker, Paul George, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid.

Meanwhile, the starters for Team LeBron, the other captain, are Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

This was just the second year of this captains format for the All-Star game, and the first year where the draft was televised. It was certainly an entertaining moment for basketball fans, especially considering how LeBron’s team is full of soon-to-be free agents.

Because, of course. No tampering here. Move along.

Jokes aside, I don’t know if Kemba will be happy with being the last pick among the All-Star starters, but nonetheless, it’s still an incredible honor and you know a humble person like Kemba Walker is just happy to be there.

This will be Walker’s third consecutive All-Star appearance. He has clearly solidified himself as one of the better players in the entire league and is only getting better as he enters the prime of his career. Walker is averaging a career-high 24.8 points this season for the Hornets.

Last season, Walker was selected to be on Team LeBron, who was a captain at that time as well. He replaced the injured Kristaps Porzingis during the All-Star game, finishing with 11 points in just 14 minutes of action.

With the All-Star festivities being held in Charlotte this year, Walker will have all of the hometown support. He will also be competing in his second three-point contest, and his teammate Miles Bridges will be in the Dunk Contest.

Next. Hornets also missed out on Harrison Barnes trade. dark

The Charlotte Hornets are going to be very well represented during All-Star weekend this year. The festivities begin on the 15th, headline by the Rising Stars game. No Hornets players will be in that game, but you can look forward to seeing Bridges and Walker on Saturday/Sunday.

This is going to be a lot of fun, folks!
