Coby White

How cool would it be to add a hometown kid in the draft? Coby White is a North Carolina native, and is rising up draft boards with his impressive play as a freshman. He could be a potential target for the Charlotte Hornets.

Going into the season, the one freshman that got most of the headlines was Nassir Little. Little has a chance to be a good player, but Coby White has been the best freshman on the Tar Heel roster so far.

The 6’5″ guard has averages of 15.2 points, 4.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds. He shoots 36 percent from downtown. Offensively, he’s ahead of schedule and his scoring ability should translate well to the next level.

White is a combo guard and would be a great addition if the team were to lose Kemba Walker in free agency. Point guard may not be his best position right away, but he can potentially transition into one and would be good insurance to have if Walker does indeed walk.

I believe teams are going to love this kid and that his draft stock will continue to rise. Based on where the Charlotte Hornets are projected to pick, White may be my personal top target.
