KZ Okpala

Another intriguing prospect here, as KZ Okpala has quickly made a name for himself as a dynamic athlete with loads of potential.

Okpala, a sophomore at Stanford, has tremendous size and length. He’s a 6’8″ forward, but has a 7’2″ wingspan. That length is going to interest teams alone. He’s going to have to increase his skill level, but his upside is enormous.

He is averaging 17.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists for Stanford this season. His jump shooting isn’t great, and his defense isn’t as consistent as I’d like, but this guy is all about potential. If he pans out, he has a chance to be special.

Right now, he is projected to be picked somewhere in the lottery. That’s not surprising at all given his physical tools. However, it also wouldn’t be surprising if he were to slide down a bit, because he is raw and it’s going to take some time in order to develop him.

If he ends up with the right team and the right developmental staff, then he has a chance to be very good. If he’s available when the Hornets are picking, he may be a legit candidate.

Regardless, Okpala is a prospect that could interest the Charlotte Hornets on draft day.
